Training Includes:

  • Create a felt sense of safety and support in the body.
  • Guidance on the felt sense inquiry (Gendlin). Build clients’ interoceptive awareness.
  • Inner child dialogue. Learn a specific dialogue to engage younger orphaned/exiled/ashamed parts.
  • Breathwork and many other “physicalizing” interventions to activate somatic connection and emotional expression (Bi-lateral stimulation, tapping, qi-gong, sounding & movement practices).
  • How to use attention (stretching towards something) in healing work 
  • Breathwork and NLP (neuro-linguistic programing) prompts to facilitate the imprinting of new beliefs.
  • Mindfulness, centering and visualization to help client access their adult consciousness and deepen capacity to access their always available internal resting place.
  • An understanding of trauma, neuroscience,  polyvalel theory, the nervous system and protective somatic shapes.
  • Master facilitating the four phases of S.O.M.A Re-Patterning™.

Training Schedule:

Starting September, 2026

Training model:

Core SOMA Curriculum: the same core curriculum is repeated each month.  New cohort members join the first week of each month: weekly topics are as follows: Sensing (week 1), Opening(week 2), Moving(week 3), and Awakening(week 4). For example. every first week of the month Dr. Kutsko will teach on sensing skills. There is a half our of practice time with partner from from 3-3:30. 

Meeting time:  Sunday's at 2:00 cst. Replay's are available (no replay for partner practice). 

Monthly Intensive (zoom): Intensive  2 hour workshops are offered once monthly on Using S.O.M.A in breathwork, trauma therapy and parts-work. Fourth Friday of each month from 10-noon cst.

Must complete 12 total sessions and 2 intensives to earn certification.

Self-Study: S.O.M.A Course: complete course prior to training for foundations of S.O.M.A Method. the soma tree. adaptive patterns.

Completion of 3 additional books on reading list.

Learn a mindfulness practice to expand clients sense of inner belonging.

Porges theories on social engagement and the role of sound, touch and contact.

Week 4

Integrating New Patterns

Somatic attuning & healing messages

Supervision 

  • Complete video of you leading a SOMA Practice (w breathwork and music)
  • Send in video of a practice session and participate in two supervision groups.
  • Receive 1/2 hour meeting w Dr. Kutsko or other SOMA Trainer to discuss your sessions.

Upon Completion:

State in bio: Certified S.O.M.A Practitioner

  • 12 Live Interactive Sessions: These sessions are didactic and experiential including break out sessions for practice.  
  • Online lectures: In addition to live classes, study at your own pace with our practical online learning material. 
  • Ongoing Training: After graduation you can continue to particpate in classes and practice sessions.
