Learn how to apply each phase of S.O.M.A in addition to developing a deeper understanding of several common adaptive personality patterns (control, perfectionism, manipulation, addiction, codapendency, and collapse). Special attention and explanation is given to Stephen Porges Poylyvagel Theory, focusing on how ones neuroception of threat or safety underlies each pattern.

The Method includes four experiential somatic practices which both facilite states of embodied presence and unwind the subconscious clenching of trauma and corresponding nervous system based adaptive survival patterns.

Sense  

Learn to drop down into the roots; into the implicit intricacy of the felt-sense through interoceptive sensory tracking. 

Open 

Learn to open and receive relationally felt experiences of safety and loving-kindness.  Experience a natural softening of protective defenses.

Move 

Suppressed mobilization is activated using movement, tapping,  shaking, sighing, sounding, humming, bi-lateral stimulation,  and breathwork.

Awaken 

Remember and recognize your most natural state of stillness and wholeness. Here there is non-attachment to ego and patterns of defense.
